Area Man Charged In Motorcycle Accident

Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says an 18-year-old has been charged in connection with a motorcycle accident. Haddox says 18-year-old Joshua Sheets of Zanesville is facing one count each of vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, and failure to yield. Haddox says the charges stem from an accident April 13th at State Route 60 and State route 555 when Sheets’ car struck a motorcycle driven by 53-year-old John Briggs of Zanesville. Briggs later died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. Haddox says Sheets arraignment has been set for September 12th.
