Area School Campus Goes On Level 2 Lockdown

A Zanesville area school Campus went on a Level 2 Lockdown this week. On Monday Bishop Fenwick and Bishop Rosecrans Administrators said they received a call regarding a potential problem to their campus. Principals Mary Walsh and William Zanders – in a letter to parents – said that while they did not feel that there was a high degree of danger, they went on a Level 2 Lockdown status. That means students stayed in their classrooms that are secured with limited movement between classes. The administrators stressed that at no point did the schools have an intruder or unknown visitor and students were never in harm’s way. The exact nature of the phone call was never made public. Principal Walsh refused to comment when asked about Monday’s incident.   Zanesville Police say they also responded to the scene, but there was never a serious threat.
