Arrest In Connection To Echo Avenue Fire

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville Fire Department has announced an arrest in connection to a house fire investigation.

The fire happened on June 23rd at 624 Echo Avenue. Assistant Fire Chief Doug Hobson said the home was not occupied at the time of the fire but five people lived there. Hobson said after further investigation, a 17 year old suspect was arrested.

“So we started an investigation on that to find out that the fire did start at the rear of the house. And as of the 28th, we have taken a juvenile into custody at this time,” he said.

Hobson said the juvenile, who has not been identified, is facing multiple felony arson charges. The fire remains under investigation.
