ArtCOZ Honors Lively as Artist of the Month
Zanesville, OH- The ArtCoz Artist for the month of June has had her work displayed everywhere from National Geographic to Children’s books.
Zanesville photographer, Paula Lively is a graduate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Lively has 30 years of experience in photography. She captures rock concerts, dance companies, weddings, newborns and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington DC.
“It started out just as a hobby, and it kind of progressed and I thought well if I’m going to do this I think I better have some education,” said ArtCoz Artist of the Month Paula Lively. “So I started at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and graduated, and then kind of snowballed, volunteering for different agencies, The American Red Cross, The American Cancer Society, and whoever would need photography. ”
Whether it’s a picture of John Glenn campaigning for John Kerry or the Secrest Summer Concert series, Lively enjoys every opportunity she can get.
“It’s my passion. So I try to illustrate that through what I see through my lens. And if it’s a concert then I want to show the emotion through people’s faces and through the crowd. And the excitement in the air, that kind of thing,” explained Lively.
You can see Lively’s work and more during the First Friday Art Walk at 8 Main Street in downtown Zanesville.
Next month, the First Friday Art Walk will not hold their art walk on July 4 due to the holiday. Instead, it will be held on July 11. To learn more about the Artist of the Month go to their website artcoz.org
