Attempted Robbery at Speedway

 Zanesville Police investigate an attempted robbery of the Speedway Gas station on Blue Avenue. 

Captain Doug Merry said that the incident took place around 1:20 a.m. when a male subject walked into the gas station with a knife and a black t-shirt wrapped around his face. 

The man demanded the clerk open the register. Captain Merry said when the clerk made no attempt to do so, the man left the building moving toward McIntire Avenue. 

Police said the only description given was that the man had short brown hair and a small build.
