Author Wants Local Illustrators
One Ohio University-Zanesville Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology is asking for the public’s help.
He’s writing a book that explores a certain "southern" culture.
"I started out exploring rodeo athletes response to injury. It’s a little bit different from the average person. Rodeo athletes have conditioned themselves to work through extreme injuries, even broken bones. They still plan to go to work the next day like any other day, " says Dr. Jim Taylor.
Taylor says he knew he was going to want some illustrations to go along with his book.
"Instead of hiring out any illustrator, I thought it was a really unique and fun opportunity to see what kind of local talent we’ve got on campus, at local high schools, and the general local area," says Taylor.
Taylor will accept entires through the end of January. The winner will receive a monetary prize.
Taylor’s book has not been titled yet, and he plans to have it released sometime next year.
