YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a shootout in the driveway at a southwestern Ohio home left two people dead, though it wasn’t clear what sparked the gunfire.

The Greene County Sheriff’s office said deputies went to the Yellow Springs home around 11 a.m. after receiving a 911 call about shots fired. They found two bodies in the driveway, near the street.

Sheriff Gene Fischer said it appeared that several shots were fired and more than one weapon was recovered. The names of the deceased or other details about them weren’t immediately released pending notification of relatives.

Fischer said the two residents of the home, one of whom had called 911, were uninjured. He couldn’t say whether or how they were related to the two people shot.

Fisher said authorities believe there may be surveillance video. He said he doesn’t believe other residents of the area have anything to fear.
