Barnes Sentenced to 28 Years

An area man already in prison on drug charges was sentenced today to a long prison term for another set of crimes. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 34-year-old Daniel Barnes received 28-years in prison from Muskingum County Common Please Judge Mark Fleegle on multiple charges including aggravated robbery and felonious assault. The case stemmed from the robbery and kidnapping of James Martin of Muskingum County in June of 2013. Barnes is already serving a prison term for a drug conviction in August of 2013.
