Battle of the Bands Rocks Secrest Auditorium Tonight

DOWNTOWN ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The much anticipated Battle of the Bands concert being put on by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville and the Zanesville Jaycees occurred today at the Secrest Auditorium.
With almost a hundred presale tickets sold and many walk-up tickets purchased, the first annual Battle of the Bands concert was a hit. As the first bands began to play, the director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville was ecstatic about the competition kicking off and seeing all the activity it was able to bring to the downtown area.
“We’ve made it happen! So its super exciting and really just see it as doing our part and providing things and entertainment for people in downtown Zanesville,” Katie Mainini, director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville stated.
The Battle of the Bands concert has tried hard and succeeded in fostering an environment in which bands within Ohio will come from near and far to compete for the cash prize of a thousand dollars.
“We’ve given all the bands whether they’ve come from Westerville or Columbus, or they’ve come locally, a warm welcome. We’ve made ‘swag bags’ for them,” Mainini said.
If you were unable to attend you can still purchase the year’s Battle of the Bands t-shirt at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office in downtown Zanesville. The organization is already excited and discussing plans for their second annual Battle of the Bands concert competition next year.
