ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday morning at its new Zanesville location.

In 2013, Zane Trace Federal Credit Union merged with Bayer Heritage, and since has been involved with the community tremendously. The business has built and supported five Habitat for Humanity houses, as well as help and volunteer at local fundraisers and events. Previously, they were located on Ridge Ave.

“We needed to find a new location for various reasons, but the biggest one was accessibility. We actually service Muskingum and Licking county and I wanted to find a location that was ready for growth, that had potential and easy accessibility,” Branch Manager Shala Aitken said.

United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties set a goal to raise 50 fans to give out to those who need air conditioning access. Bayer Heritage stepped in and donated 25 fans towards the campaign during the grand opening.

“We know that their business has been around and has been involved in the community for a really long time, but our partnership is growing and we’re really proud about that and excited about the prospects of what we can accomplish together for the community,” United Way Resource Development Director Kyle Dunn said.

Bayer Heritage has 11 branches in five states. The Zanesville location is at 3280 Northpointe Dr.
