Benefit for Callista Lynch Sunday
The benefit for a Duncan Falls girl living with Spina Bifida is this Sunday.
Three-year old Callista Lynch is making strides and her speech is improving. Her mom, Kim, said Callista loves the taste of freedom she gets in her new pink wheelchair, but unfortunately there isn’t enough space inside their house to give her the independence she needs.
“Now she just really wants to go, so what we’re doing now is we’re helping her figure out how to work the wheelchair, and we get to come outside and she gets to have free reign out here, inside it’s a little different, and she’s got too many things to run over, so that’s the reason we’re doing the home renovations,” she said.
The benefit is this Sunday at Prophet’s Park in Zanesville, and will feature a chicken dinner, silent auction and bake sale. Kim Lynch said they are hoping to reach a goal of $10,000 to start renovations immediately.
“Once we get this renovation done, she’s actually going to have a room downstairs, unfortunately when we purchased our home it’s not wheelchair accessible, and in fact most things are upstairs and she can’t get there, so once we get her a room and bathroom built on, she’ll have more space for her therapy equipment, and she’ll be able to roam around a little bit more than she does now,” she said.
This is the final benefit the Lynch family is having. Kim Lynch said her family is overwhelmed by all of the outpouring of community support over the years.
