Bernice L. Baldwin Taylor (October 17, 1922 – June 4, 2011)

Bernice L. Baldwin Taylor age 88 of Zanesville, died at 7:30 pm Saturday June 4, 2011 at Emeritus of North Hills. She was born October 17, 1922 in Zanesville and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Barbara Sneddon Pitts.

Bernice was a lifetime member, and one of the oldest, of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was also a long time member of the church’s choir. Her love of music continued into her home where she enjoyed playing the organ. Bernice had a very good sense of humor including right up to the end of her life.

Surviving is her daughter, Carol S. Wahl of Zanesville; a son, Thomas S. (Sandie) Baldwin of Lancaster; Step-daughter, Jane Richardson of Nashport; grandchildren: Mark Wahl, Erin Cohagen, Kelli Wahl, Stephanie Baldwin, Stephen T. Baldwin, Derek Baldwin and Donita Bessent; step-granddaughter, Amy Richardson; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Mark, Rebekah, Benjamin, Sarah, Mary Ann, Rachel and Daniel Wahl, Blayne Havas, Stevie Baldwin and Sydney Baldwin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert S. Baldwin who she married in 1941 and who died in 1998; second husband, Howard E. Taylor; daughter, Kay Marlene Baldwin; grandsons: Douglas Robert Baldwin and Michael Dustin Baldwin; son-in-laws, Edward Wahl, Jr. and two sisters: Alice Bunting and Mary Ellen Meloy.

Calling hours will be from 1-3 and 5-7 pm Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., and one hour prior to services which will be at 11 am Wednesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 400 Pleasant Grove Rd., Zanesville OH with Rev. Nathan Nordine and Rev. Jean Teter officiating. Committal services will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
