Betty J. Heskett 1939 – 2017

Betty J. Heskett, 78 of Zanesville, died 5:26 AM, Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. She was born Wednesday, September 20, 1939, in Zanesville, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Briggs) Garrett. She married Everett J. Heskett on Tuesday, August 29, 1978.

Betty graduated from the last class of South Zanesville High School in 1957, where she was valedictorian. She continued her education to receive her Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University.

Betty loved unconditionally. Her generosity was unending with her time and support. Betty saw beauty in everything and collected art, antiques and houses. One of Betty’s loves was spending her winters in West Palm Beach.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter: Stacy Clapper of Zanesville; two step-daughters: Kathy (Dave) Shepard of Granville and Shelly (Don) McCarty of Dania Beach, FL; grandchildren: Erica, Casey, Kori, Sarah, Natalie and Danielle; great grandchildren: Ella, Layne and Priscilla; two sisters: Carol Bryan and Mary (Melvin) Arnold both of Zanesville: one sister-in-law: Karen Bash and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son: Danny Gee; the father of her children: Daniel Gee; brothers: John Garrett and Stephen Garrett; a brother-in-law: Thomas Bryan and one nephew: Tommy Bryan.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Bryan Place, 49 North Sixth Street, Zanesville.
