Big Brothers Big Sisters Kicks Off the 2016 ‘Bowl For Kids Sake’

The kick-off for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Annual Bowl for Kids Sake Fundraiser happened Saturday.

This year, the organization is celebrating its 33rd Anniversary of the 3 day long ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’ event with a Star Wars theme. Development Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Debby Knaup said the money raised will go directly towards the support for the kids.

“We serve over 400 children, through our community and school based program. That just helps with all of the activities, the things that we do throughout the year and supporting those matches and giving them good support in whatever they need. Through activities and through our school program so we put all that money towards them,” said Knaup.

Knaup said the ultimate goal behind *Bowl for Kids Sake* is to keep the organization running and bring awareness of the children in need.

“The Bigs and their Littles, this is all about them and this is who we serve and what we do. They are invited today, they are celebrating over on the other lanes with their Bigs and their having a pretty good time,” said Knaup.

The celebration will continue on Tuesday with part 2 of the festivities.
