Big Sandy Superstores Coming to Z-ville/Heath

A new appliance and electronics store is coming to our area. Big Sandy Superstore will be taking over the H-H Gregg building on Maple Avenue and will be opening another store in the Indian Mound Mall in Heath. They sell furniture, mattresses, appliances and electronics. Company officials say the store was founded in Ashland, Kentucky in 1953 by Robert Vanhoose. It has multiple store locations in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky and has over 600 employees. Both stores are expected to open in the fall. The Zanesville location will have 35 employees and the Heath store will have between 15 and 20 jobs. H-H Gregg filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and its stores are expected to be closed by the end of May.
