Billie Diane (Ayres) Bowers, 75, of Duncan Falls, passed away at Adams Lane Nursing Home on Sunday, August 3, 2025. She was born July 3rd, 1949, to the late William and Maxine McCoy Ayres.

Billie was a homemaker and stay at home mom for most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and canning. She was a waitress at her sister’s restaurant, Max and Leroy’s, in New Lexington and Zanesville. She will be fondly remembered for her love of dogs, delighting in their company throughout her life. She enjoyed gathering around the table with friends and family playing cards. She liked exploring new places and making memories traveling in their camper. Later in life she found her faith and attended Cornerstone Church in Duncan Falls.

She is survived by her son Thomas (Teresa) Maxwell; a daughter Jeana Cogswell; her grandchildren: Stephanie (Neil) Denton and Emily (Gage) Maxwell; three sisters: Madaline “Jean” (Jack) Spence, Linda “Lynn” Davis and Helen “Sunny” Kreps.

In additions to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Elwood Cogswell, who passed in 1997; her second husband Roger Bowers, who passed in 2018; and her sister Maxine “Sue” Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Muskingum County Animal Shelter Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 PM, Thursday, August 7, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 8, in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville, Ohio.
