Birds of a Feather

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Ohio has many forms of wildlife that play their role in the state’s diverse ecosystem.

And Muskingum County Library System Marketing and Community Relations Director Sean Fennell talked about an upcoming series of presentations that the library will host, which features The Ohio School of Falconry explaining how Ohio’s raptors play their part.

“So the Ohio School of Falconry is going to bring owls and other raptors to this event and they will be live, in the library, in the programming space. You will be able to see these incredible animals that exist within the environment. Kind of within a more educational setting, where you will be able to really see and learn about these incredible animals up close and personal. Live and in person at the library,” Fennell said.

The first event in the series will take place from 11:30-to-12:30, Saturday, January 4th, at the New Concord Branch Library.

“This is a really nice model of how programming is going to kind of work while John McIntire is being remodeled,” Fennell said. “That we are going to try and bring in some of these larger programs more frequently. This is an all ages program so everyone is welcome to attend. We do ask that people register for the program that way we make sure that you know, we’re not overcrowding. So make sure that you go online and register for that.”

The library will be hosting the program at various branch locations throughout the month of January and will have plenty of books regarding the topics being discussed available for checkout.
