ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Bishop Rosecrans High School has its own home field, for football, for the first time in school history.

Bishop Rosecrans High School blessed its new field today before anyone played on it. There were 500 students, in the stands, as they watched the priest bless the field. Rosecrans’ principal, Jennifer Mallett, said this field has been five years in the making.

“This has been our dream to have our own home field and our own stadium,” said Mallett. “For our Bishop’s community, it’s just going to bring the community together. We are so excited for the first home football game.”

First year Rosecrans athletic director, Gage Lotozo, said he can’t wait to see the emotion of the players running on to their own field for the first time.

“The alumni are really excited,” said Lotozo. “You can see it in their faces. You can see it in the kids faces as well. The kids who will actually participate in the game, the kids in the student section, everybody is pretty excited about it.”

The first game at the new facility will be Friday night, when the Rosecrans football team takes on Beallsville.
