ZANESVILLE, OH – A new coffee spot is officially brewing up business near downtown Zanesville.

On May 13th, Blockhouse Coffee Company celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on State Street. Community members stopped by throughout the morning to welcome the new business and grab a fresh cup of coffee. Local leaders and residents gathered to celebrate the opening and show support for the cafe’s new beginning.

“It’s about the community for us. I mean, we have another business that we also operate in this town and this is just an add on to help create employment and to celebrate every day with people.” Owner, Myron Goins said.

Along with handcrafted coffee drinks featuring premium 1883 syrups, the shop also offers fresh pastries and sweet treats made by local bakers. Owners say they hope the shop becomes a welcoming place where people can relax, meet with friends, or grab their favorite coffee on the go. Blockhouse Coffee Company is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“It’s definitely a family environment. We want people to enjoy it, have fun, and hangout. It’s just a place to come and get your local coffee.” Owner, Cathi Goins said.

“We also feature the 1883 syrups. So, it’s all natural. We chose that because we were told that no other place in town has that. We hope it also brings the community out as well.” Owner, Melissa Cromwell said.

Blockhouse Coffee Company is located at 423 State Street in Zanesville. For more information, you can visit their Facebook page.
