ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This year’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville’s annual ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’ fundraiser drew a record turnout.

BBBSZ President and CEO Katie Lupsor talked about the event and shared just how much it benefits area youth.

“Bowl for Kids’ Sake this year was really such a blessing,” Lupsor said. “We had many partners come out to support the event and as you know, we don’t just serve Muskingum County, we serve Muskingum Guernsey, Morgan, Noble and now Coshocton Counties. So we were really excited to see faces from more than just Muskingum County there representing and supporting us at that event.”

$93,000 Dollars was raised through the 118 bowling teams, which consisted of 66 sponsors made up of local businesses and organizations who attended the event.

“Over the course of our three-day-event we were able to raise money for our youth mentoring programs,” Lupsor said. “Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth, so that youth in our communities can reach their full potential. So this really helps advance our mission. We’re growing very rapidly, so we’re really excited about that specifically. And we’re so excited that an event like this generates that engagement with our community.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville is always looking for volunteers, who are willing to spend time mentoring area youth. For more information you can visit them online.
