ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville is a community that has a tradition of holding many fun, charitable events.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Zanesville Executive Director Katie Lupsor discussed some of the fun things people can anticipate and ways people can participate in the 40th annual Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser.

“We’re asking anyone and everyone who’s interested in supporting youth programs to come out April 9th, 10th, or 12th, to come bowl with us and help raise funds for our youth programs. So we do still have some spots. Teams are forming now. We’re looking for teams of 4-to-6 bowlers. It’s completely free to register your team at bbbsz.org. And you can log on, pick the time slot that you wish to bowl,” Lupsor said.

While registering you will be given directions for how you can fundraise with ‘Strike it Big’ tickets, which sell raffle entries to win discounts on goods and services from a variety of sponsoring businesses.

“Basically what you can expect with your registration is you receive two games of bowling at Sunrise Bowling Center,” Lupsor said. “So you’ll bowl for about an hour-and-a-half, you have that timeframe. We provide with our partnership with Domino’s Pizza, a pizza and a soda. In addition to that, D.J. Kurtus is going to be there. Giving out prizes, we’re going to have raffle drawings, lots of fun, trivia, dancing, music.”

Lupsor noted that Big Brothers, Big Sisters is still registering teams and that ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’ is not a competitive bowling event but a fun opportunity to support community youth programs.
