Boy Seriously Injured in Lawn Mower Accident

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a lawn mower accident that seriously injured a 4-year-old boy.

Authorities say around 6 p.m. Monday they received a call that a child had been run over with a riding lawn mower.

According to witnesses, the child walked to  neighbor Robin Coccia’s  home on Cavalcade Lane in Pataskala while he  was mowing his yard.

Authorities say  Coccia was unaware Joseph Loughry was standing behind the mower and struck the boy.

Loughry was flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus where he remains in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
