Bremen Man Killed in Accident

The State Highway Patrol said a Bremen man has lost his life in a traffic accident.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said the accident took place Tuesday afternoon on State Route 256 near State Route 188 in Walnut Township in Fairfield County.

The Patrol said 25-year-old Brett Smith, of Bremen, was traveling west on State Route 256 in a 1999 Honda Civic. Smith went left of center and off the south side of the road where his vehicle overturned.

Officials said Smith was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol.
