Brian M. Barker 1968-2018
Brian M. Barker, 49 of Zanesville, died 9:13 PM, Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a lengthy battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was born Wednesday, September 11, 1968, in Zanesville, the son of Glen Barker and Elaine (Warne) Shaffer. He married Jennifer (Grady) Barker on Saturday, May 27, 2006 and was Methodist by Faith.
Brian was employed with Big Bear Stores, Roekel Company, and currently with The American Light Company. He loved to hunt, play softball, baseball, and enjoyed bowling. Brian greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family and being involved in all their activities. Brian was a loving and caring son, husband, brother, father and grandfather, and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns.
Brian is survived by his wife: Jennifer Barker of the home; mother: Elaine (Jerry) Shaffer of Zanesville; children: Jackie (Andrew Clary) Winegardner of Byesville; Katie (Zach Blevins) Barker of Buckeye Lake; Brandon Barker of Zanesville; Elisa (Blane Dunlap) Grady of Parkersburg, WV, and Selina (Mark Grimm) Grady of Zanesville; five grandchildren: Lillian E. Morgan, McKynzie M. Winegardner, Hunter, Emmalee & Zoey Blevins; one sister: Karen (Todd) Dunlap of Zanesville; one aunt: Sue (Don) Bilski of Athens; one nephew: Kyle Dunlap and one niece: Josie Dunlap both of Zanesville; step-mother: Susie Barker of Zanesville, and step brother & sister: Kelli (Tarney) Rine of West Layfette & Chuck (Rachel) Miller of Zanesville, and many nieces, nephews and friends including special friends: Tony (Kathy) Robinson & Heath (Lesley) Touvell all of Zanesville.
In addition to his father: Glen Barker, Brian was preceded in death by one infant grandson: Dallas Michael Barker; grandparents: John (Garnetta) Warne & Edgar (Thelma) Barker
