Building Fun Brick by Brick

Zanesville,OH- A colorful celebration of creativity is coming to the Zanesville Museum of Art with its popular special edition Sunday Funday Brick by Brick event.
The free, family friendly event invites visitors of all ages to explore the world of Lego bricks through hands on art activities, trivia and a building contest. Guests can also enjoy an exhibit by the Ohio Lego User’s Group.
“We had a really popular Star Wars one, and so that made us think what other kind of really exciting topics to welcome a lot of people to the museum, and so LEGO was a natural other one to try, so this is our first ever LEGO themed Sunday Funday and we’re hoping to make it a repeated event just like the Star Wars,” said ZMA Education Coordinator Misty Johnson.
One of the highlights is the Lego building contest, which is free to enter, but requires online registration through the museum’s website. Entries must be turned in by 4:30pm on Friday, July 18. Only one submission is allowed per participant. All builds must be original, using traditional Lego or compatible bricks.
“I’m really looking forward to see what people come up with for the building contest,” added Johnson. “I just can’t wait to see what people make and bring in, and just see that creativity that goes into creating an original build.”
The brick by brick event takes place Sunday, July 20 from 1-4pm. All galleries will remain open during the event and complimentary refreshments will be provided. No registration is required to attend.
