Cambridge Resident is a Muskie for Life

New Concord- Out at Muskingum University there is a special organization that is making a huge impact in the area.
Team Impact, an organization matching children facing both disability and illness with their dreams, came through for Erik Roth. Roth is from Cambridge and is battling cystic fibrosis. He’s also always wanted to play football.
“He watches some football with me sometimes,” said Erik’s father Duane Roth. “When I do watch it and when I got time to watch it it’s great to you know. I’m just excited for him more than anything.”
Muskingum University Football Team gave him that opportunity by having Roth sign a National Letter of Intent to join the program.
“We’re really excited to have Erik join our program,” added Muskingum Football Coach Erik Leuter. “He can come to as many practices as he wants and we’re looking forward to having him on the sidelines when we play our first home game on September 14th. I might let him call a play. If it’s a touchdown then we will let him call the good ones. ”
“I mean this is the first time and yea it feels great. To be on or apart of the team. Muskies,” said Roth.
After touring the locking room and receiving his own jersey he knows now that he’ll be a Muskie for life.
