Cambridge Victim’s Fiance Speaks

As the investigators gather more information on the shooting, we gathered more about what eye witnesses saw and who the victim, Kyle Carter was. See video to the left.

It was dark and gloomy  in Cambridge on Wednesday, but it was not just the weather, it was the loss of a best friend.

Kyle Carter’s best friend, Cody Heskett, says he called Carter to come to his house and hang out. As Carter was walking there the suspect started to fight with him.

"So, I went outside to try to help him because he is a big guy and the guys said you trying to jump me? That’s when he went inside and when he came out he tried to shoot me first," said Cody Heskett, victim’s best friend.

Heskett was not shot, but was there when Carter was. Now, he is suffering from the loss of his friend and he feels it’s a meaningless murder.

"I guess I am alright, just a shame losing a friend over a dog. That’s what it was over," said Heskett.

Carter’s fiance Katrina Adamik says she is not alright. Not only did she lose the love of her life, she is pregnant with twins.

"I’m upset because he is not around to see his kids. I wish he was here. It’s going to be hard without him," said Katrina Adamik, victim’s fiance.

As our emotional conversation continued she is able to tell us what kind of man Kyle Carter was.

"He was a great person. An amazing person. He would have been a great father. I wouldn’t trade him for the world," said Adamik.

Both Adamik and Heskett say they are fearful. Heskett plans to move from the area and Katrina says she has lost the man who always protected her.

One suspect is in custody.
