Candle Light Vigil to Honor Bryce Skok

Family, friends, teammates and classmates gathered at Muskingum University’s Brown Chapel Wednesday evening for a candle light vigil to honor the life of Bryce Skok.

Skok was killed Tuesday in a head-on car accident on U.S 40 near New Concord. The 18-year-old freshman was a long snapper for the University’s football team and Coach  Al Logan said he was a known commodity.

“Well we started recruiting him last November so it wasn’t something where he just got on campus. We knew him and the process to recruit a young man to play college football in itself is a process because you get to know the family and the parents and brothers and sisters. So, before he got on campus we knew him and what kind of young man he was.”

One classmate said Skok was at Muskingum University for 7 weeks and never met a stranger. Coach Logan said “all of our guys have a rubber band on with his initials and we’ll have an oval put on our helmets for the rest of the year that’ll have his initials on it. We’ll put those on there Friday and probably a dedication of the game ball, things like that.”

He truly exemplifies the fight of the Muskie and what the program and the school is all about stated Logan.
