Carrell Gene Dunn (November 25, 1926 – August 7, 2010)

Carrell Gene “Big Daddy” Dunn 83 of Roseville passed away on Saturday August 7, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Room.

Carrell was born in Roseville on November 25, 1926 to the late Walter and Carrie Dunn. Carrell was a life long resident of Roseville and was a member of The St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, American Legion, and a former member of the Roseville Fire Department. He also was a member of Doric Lodge #172 F.&A.M. in Deavertown. Carrell was the owner of Dunn Trucking in Roseville for more than 50 years. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Army during WWII.

He is survived by his loving wife Opal Chappelear Dunn of the home, two sons Danny Dunn of Roseville and Jerry (Lori) Dunn of Roseville, a daughter Susanne Dunn of Zanesville, two brothers Donald (Margie) Dunn of Roseville and Paul Dunn of Roseville, a sister Nora Brown of Newark. Five Grandchildren Tiffany McCulley, Jason Dunn, Jami Harper, Jacob Dunn, and Brandon Dunn, Six great grandchildren Madlyn, Jamison, Lynkin, Deklan, Colin, and Koen.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jim Dunn who passed away in 1983 , a daughter Roxanne Dunn who passed away in 1953, and a brother Bob Dunn.

Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday August 10 at The ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN CHURCH 104 NORTH MAIN STREET ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday at the church with Pastor Al Laese and Pastor Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
