Carrie Turner named Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-  This months artist of the month is Carrie Turner.

Turner is a Zanesville native and has been an artist with the Artist Colony of Zanesville for six years. Turner explains her current project includes a theme of black and white feather paintings.

“Right now I’m getting inspiration from feathers because I think they mean a lot of things to a lot of people so they can be interpreted in a lot of different ways. So right now I’m focusing on black and white just because I usually don’t do a lot of black and white stuff I usually do color stuff.”

Turner encourages everyone to come out and view her art this Friday as part of the Art Walk and is giving everyone an incentive to do so.

“I’m doing a gift certificate raffle and I’m doing six certificates and the values of those are 230 dollars so people can come in they don’t have to buy anything they can just come in and enter the raffle, take a look at my stuff and if they do buy something from someone in the temple then they are going to get a third raffle ticket.”

Turner’s studio is located in the fifth floor in room 501 of the Masonic Temple in downtown Zanesville.
