Casino Night at American Legion Post 29

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Community members were able to play a few games of chance.
American Legion Post 29 hosted their 4th Annual Casino Night. The Casino Night is a fun way to bring the community together and help raise money for the events the American Legion puts on. A steak fry is also taking place during the Casino Night. The featured games were black jack, chug a lug, and Texas poker.
“We just got talking about how to raise funds and it came up. We knew that Genesis used to do one years ago in the mall. And it had not been done for a while. The first time we did, everyone seemed to enjoy it. It just kind of caught on from there,” said Post Commander, Larry Wheeler.
All games will be played with funny money, or monopoly money that participants can cash out at the end of the night, prizes are available to bid on and possibly take home. A fun night for participants and a charitable one as well.
“Zanesville and Muskingum County is a very tight community. They tend to get together and support local projects. And by them supporting this project, it allows us to support other projects in the community. So it’s kind of a good way to give, and receive also if you will. Like I said, we do a number of scholarships and things like that. So hopefully through the money raised here we can continue those programs,” Wheeler said.
All the proceeds from Casino Night will go to the American Legion’s programs and scholarships for the community.
