Celebrating Fatherhood on the Golf Course
It was a day for dads at Jaycees Golf Course in Zanesville.
Twelve teams participated in the second annual Champions of Fatherhood Golf Classic. Executive director of Forever Dads Burl Lemon said last year’s event raised about $4,000 for the organization.
"It’s a relaxing time to be able to celebrate and strengthen fatherhood through raising funds to serve the fathers and children in our community," said Lemon. "It helps us continue Forever Dads and the work we do."
Golfers competed for a chance to win a bed and breakfast getaway and an Ohio State golf bag, but Lemon said the best prize is supporting the development of healthy families.
"Our purpose is to encourage, educate and equip men to be responsible in the development of their children, family and the community," said Lemon.
