Chair-ity Auction Participation

NORWICH, Ohio – Each February, Eastside Community Ministry holds their Chair-ity Auction, which is a major fundraising event that helps support families in need
National Road Flea Market is a local business that recognizes the efforts that ECM engages in throughout the community and continuously supports the nonprofit’s efforts.
Flea Market Vendor Rhonda Hollingshead, who was last year’s Chair-ity Auction People’s Choice Award winner explained how the auction works through donors attaching various themes and incentives to the chairs, which attract the bidders.
“I think a lot of what they’re looking for is something that’s unique,” Hollingshead said. “That a lot of folks will… It’ll help them bring in the money to support Eastside. And so this year as we were choosing a theme, we also looked at what are a lot of things that the vendors have that’s local and we realized we have a lot of Leslie Cope and thought that would be a nice theme to be able to do for this year.”
Hollingshead said last year’s award winning entry was an Ohio State themed chair but this year they chose a theme that was locally inspired and includes contributions from the 54 vendors that comprise the National Road Flea Market.
“We want to be able to support the families and the children of our community and know where the funds are going and this has been really helpful to be able to know that it’s going to support families in our county,” Hollingshead said.
The National Road Flea Market, which is located at 8645 East Pike, provides nostalgia in a general-store setting with a down-home feel. You can see their locally themed Chair-tiy Auction entry on display next weekend at the Colony Square Mall.
