Chamber of Commerce Events and Membership Updates

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Annual Legislative Breakfast provided by the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce will be on February 24, 2017 this year.
State Senator Troy Balderson and State Representative Brian Hill will be the guest speakers for the breakfast. According to the Membership Services Specialist, Ashley Umstott, Balderson and Hill will both talk about the committees they serve on and what changes will be made this year.
“This is an event that we do have annually,” Umstott said. “It’s really important that businesses do come to hear about the new issues that are going on. Things that are going to affect their businesses in our area that they live in.”
The event is sponsored by AT&T and will take place at Eaglesticks Golf Club from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. Ticket costs are $10.00 and businesses can also purchase a corporate table for $100.00.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce ended last year with 662 members and this year they hope to expand by at least 23 more memberships.
The Chamber of Commerce has added an online payment feature recently for new members to utilize.
“One of the biggest options we have for members now is to pay for the membership online through Chamber Masters,” Umstott said. “It’s really convenient instead of having to mail in a check or call in with credit card information. You’re able to just go online; it’s just a couple clicks away then you have it done with.”
Umstott said they’ll also be starting a Chamber Ambassador program so individual members can go to chamber events, promote those same events, and talk to the community about opportunities the Chamber of Commerce can provide.
“Definitely something that we help our members with their marketing, promoting their business,” Umstot said. “Somebody may not need that help right now, but in the future, we’re more than happy to do that for them. We offer Workers [Compensation] discount for them, and definitely [Human Resources] meetings are held here locally.”
