Chamber of Commerce host Festival of Trees preview

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s a big night in downtown Zanesville Wednesday night.

The Festival of Trees preview at the Welcome Center kicked off at 5:00 p.m. The holiday tour of businesses is underway. At 6:30 The Miracle on Main Street Lighting event begins at the courthouse.

“Folks will be in our downtown area going to different businesses and seeing their decorations,” Zanesville-Muskingum Chamber of Commerce, President, Dana Matz said. “Seeing what the stores have to offer. They will also be coming to the Welcome Center to see the preview of the Festival of Trees auction. This event goes on not matter what the weather is. We encourage them to come down check out everything. Bring the kids of all ages to our downtown area.”

Matz said the Welcome Center will have arts and crafts for kids and a special visit from Santa Claus as well. You can also cast your vote for your favorite entry.

“As folks come into the Welcome Center they’ll receive a ballot,” Matz said. “They can vote on [their favorite entry]. They are broken down into categories such as large trees, small trees, wreath, and other. The entries that are chosen to be the winner will be announced during during the Festival of Trees auction on Friday.”

The Festival of Trees auction starts Friday at 9:00 a.m. will be broadcast live on AM 1240 Radio and our website.
