ZANESVILLE, OH – As Chamber Week comes to a close, today was a day to celebrate partnerships within the Chamber Organization.

Through the Muskingum Growth Partnership program, members are able to help create a growing economy.

Dana Matz, President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, talked about the Muskingum Growth Partnership helped strengthen the bond between the Chamber and the Port Authority.

“The creation of this entity was done just for that reason.” Matz said. “To collaborate with the Muskingum County Port Authority and the local Government as we try to grow the industrial base of Muskingum County.”

Matt Abbott, Executive Director of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority, called the Port Authority a quasi-governmental entity and talked about what that means.

“There’s just some things like, money that’s invested is better for a non-profit or another entity to invest in.” Abbott said. “So the partnership with the Chamber and with MGP has been critical in many ways.”
