Chapman Found Guilty

Jurors in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court convicted 50-year-old Chad Chapman after a one day trial.

Chapman was found guilty of felonious assault for the attack on another man.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor said in September a neighbor heard fighting sounds from Chapman’s home on Spruce Street in Zanesville and called 911. The witness told authorities Chapman continued to attack the victim as he tried to escape.

The neighbor then testified that the victim took a hard fall to the ground trying to get in his car. The neighbor said the victim did not fight back.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a brain bleed, bruising and cuts all over his body.

Chapman faces a maximum possible sentence of eight to 12 years.
