Charger and Challenger Top Stolen Cars

Two cars known for their powerful engines top the list of vehicles most likely to be stolen.

The Highway Loss Data Institute said their findings show the Dodge Charger Hemi and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat have theft claim rates more than 5 times the average for models between 2016 and 2018.

The Infiniti Q-50 4 door comes in third place for stolen vehicles. GMC’s Sierra 1500 crew cab is the most stolen pickup truck coming in fifth on the list.

Missing from this year’s list the Cadillac Escalade which previously topped the rankings. The car least likely to be stolen is the BMW 3 series 4 door.

Electric vehicles also tend to have low theft rates. The Tesla Model S and Model X are both among the least stolen vehicles.
