Straker Foundation Fall Grant

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The J.W. and M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation announced details concerning its 2024 grant cycle.

The foundation’s Senior Program Director Pam Kirst talked about the grant process and explained how those grants are aimed toward funding efforts that serve to benefit the people of Muskingum County.

“Well the grant cycle opened last week, it closes February 11th at 11:59 p.m.” Kirst said. “And nonprofits that are 501-c-3 organizations, educational institutions that are accredited, and governmental entities are eligible to apply.”

Kirst noted grants are normally awarded to brick and mortar projects and educational programs but are rarely disbursed toward funding operating expenses.

“The application is fully online at www.strakerfoundation.org,” Kirst said. “We would love to hear from people if they have questions before February 11th and they can reach us at our phone number which is (740) 297-7007. We’re generally in the office from 9-til-2 Monday through Thursday. Or they can email us at info@strakerfoundation.org.”

Previous projects and programs that the Straker Foundation’s grants have supported include Mid-East’s CDL program as well as the pavilion that will be built as part of the Muskingum County Facilities Authority ‘Gateway’ project.
