Charles Phillip Reeder

Charles Phillip Reeder, 74, husband of the late Nancy J. Fluharty Reeder who passed away October 22, 2011 after 43 years of marriage, left this life on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. He was born in Morgan County, September 22, 1942 to the late Charles Raymond “Ted†and Leona Ellen Anderson Reeder and graduated from M&M High School Class of 1961. Later he volunteered and served his country in the United States Army from 1961 through 1964 as a SPC-5 E-5 in Fort Hood, Texas. He moved to the Mojave Desert in California for desert training and later to Fort Stewart, Georgia to stage for Kennedy’s “Bay of Pigsâ€. He was employed in the management group now known as MIBA . He retired after forty years and seven months of service on December 31, 2005 due to health at the age of 63. Phil and his wife Nancy also owned and operated their “Kirby Sweeper†repair shop at their residence for 18 years.
Phil and Nancy enjoyed the same things in life; love for their Lord, love of southern gospel music, working with their home and large lawn with landscaping and flowers, wood working and their Kirby repair shop. They had a mutual understanding of the need to have Christ in their lives. They both were reborn into Christ at the same time in the Neelsyville Church of Christ.
He is survived by Nancy’s four children, Beth Ann Kutscherenko, Brent Morris, Belinda (Aaron) Ellis and Brooke Clemens (Mike Pierce); six grandchildren, Alica Davis, Brittany (Christian) Holdren, Bryce (Mandi) Ellis, Nicole Parsons, Cara (Jeremy) Wickham and Caleb (Kaley) Clemens; eight great grandchildren, Myia Rae and John “Jack†Holden, Addison Ivan and Ayla Jean Davis, Ashlyn Rae Ellis, Mason Thomas, Leighna Rheanne, Brystol Reece and Rheagan Nicole Clemens; three sisters, Doris (Larry) Williams of LaFeria, TX, Sue Ellen Dailey (James Freese) of Westerville and April (Duane) McCune of Malta; niece Lori McCune Motz (Chris); nephews Brad (Jennifer) McCune and Nathan (Tasha) McCune; several great nephews and great nieces.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by a niece, Holly Williams Duncan.

No calling hours will be held upon his final requests. Graveside services for both Phil and Nancy will be held at noon, Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the McConnelsville Cemetery with Mark Fluharty officiating. Military graveside rites by American Legion Post #24 McConnelsville to honor Phil for his service to our country. Nephew Brad McCune of SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE is in charge of cremation and burial arrangements.
