Charles W. Lutz Sr (February 11, 1924 – May 13, 2011)

Charles W. Lutz Sr., 87, of Columbus, died peacefully at home Friday May 13, 2011.
He was the son of the late Samuel and Beulah Lutz. Charles was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia, of 56 years and his sister: Rosella Lenhart and son-in-law: Gerald Wolford.
Charles is survived by three daughters: Eileen (Robert) Long, Charlotte Wolford and Vinita (Carl) Brinda, a son: Charles W. Lutz Jr. and brother: Jack (Barb) Lutz. In addition he is survived by eleven grandchildren: Kevin, Karynn and Karl Long, Lee Wolford, Rochelle Mc Quiston, Jenny Adams, Mindy Chappalier, Shannon and Tyler Lutz, Lance and Claire Brinda and 10 great grandchildren.
Charles was a kind loving man who loved to read and had a soft spot for animals. He was born in the caretaker’s cottage of Greenlawn Cemetery in Zanesville. He proudly served our country for over 20 years in the United States Army. He was known to say “Don’t treat me like a hero when I die. I only did what I was told”.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday May 18, 2011 with visitation one hour prior to services at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville, OH. As per Charles‘s wish a cremation will follow his funeral service.
