Christmas Came Early at The Zanesville Rotary Christmas Party
ZANESVILLE, OH –Presents, pizza and more at the Zanesville Noon Rotary Clubs annual Christmas Party for Kids.
The Zanesville Rotary Club is a service-based club that provides community service to both local and international communities. Every year the club teams up with Adornetto’s Italian Food to serve children in the Zanesville City School system.
Ohio Means Jobs Workforce Administrator and Rotary member Julie Metzger shared her excitement about the event.
“The children’s Christmas party started back in the 50s so we’ve been doing this for like 80 plus years. Now it’s evolved since then, we’ve gotten bigger, we’ve changed a little bit, but the children really enjoy Santa being here, the gifts that they get, having a pizza party and just starting off the holiday season. It’s just a great event that they enjoy every year.”
Every year the children have the opportunity to give their teachers their Christmas wish list and their teachers deliver the lists to Santa so he can shop for their specific request.
“We have 60 children here,” Metzger said. Their teachers and aids are with them so it’s going to be, we’re going to have a great time. Again, Santa’s going to be here. We’ve got singing and carolers and gifts. It’s just a great day.”
The Zanesville Noon Rotary Club is once again bringing the community together this holiday season, helping children in need and spreading the spirit of giving. Their annual Christmas party is a reminder of the difference you can make this upcoming holiday.
