Christ’s Table 2019 Spring Canister Drive

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you are still looking for ways to give back to the community, now is your chance to stop at one of the locations for Christ’s Table’s canister drive.
The Spring and Fall canister drives are the two major fundraisers of the year for Christ’s Table. Volunteers are out braving the rain collecting donations for the drive. Just follow the big, yellow signs and you will find volunteers at South locations and Riesbeck’s Downtown today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They encourage everyone to give out at least a quarter to the drive, one quarter provides the food cost of one meal.
“We do this in the Spring to get those shelves stocked up for the summer months. And we’re so busy when the kids are out of school. And we just want to say a big thank you to everybody that helps keep our meal costs at 25 cents. Our meal costs only costs 25 cents because we have volunteers that come in and help us and all the donations that come in,” said Executive Director of Christ’s Table, Keely Warden.
Warden also said no donation is too small, every little bit helps. Their goal is to make sure children will be provided a meal during the Summer.
“During the Summer, kids that are normally getting free lunches at school are coming here with their families during the Summer. And we just want to make sure that we’re ready, and that we have healthy food here to provide. And that’s why we do our Spring canister drive,” she said.
The Spring canister drive will take place again next weekend on the North end at Walmart. If you would like to volunteer, just call Christ’s Table, (740) 452-9766.
