Christ’s Table gears up for Pie in the Face event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local organization is hoping to bring a bit more laughter and fun to the community.
Christ’s Table will be wrapping up their Operation Feed campaign on Thursday by serving lunch and hosting a pie in the face contest at the Courthouse Square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 40 prominent community figures who have personally fund raised for the campaign will receive a pie to the face.
“There are going to be all kinds of people down there getting pie’d and it’ll be really fun, but we also want to remind people that they can come down for lunch too,” said Keely Warden, Executive Director of Christ’s Table. “The Hunger Network will be there selling hot dogs, coneys and chips for a donation so come down to eat and watch all the fun.”
In addition, Christ’s Table will also be selling $1.00 raffle tickets for a clay bird bath containing over $1,000 of various gift cards.
Christ’s Table acknowledges the vital role the community has played throughout the campaign and encourages everybody to stop by and help the cause.
“We have had such a successful campaign,” said Warden. “We’ve sold over 1,000 subs and our National Letter Carriers have generated over 34,000 pounds of food so we would just like to thank the whole community for that.”
Although the campaign may be coming to a close, donations will still be accepted.
“We just want to remind everybody that no donation is too little,” said Warden. “We’d like to thank everybody that has made this event possible because it greatly helps those that we serve every day.”
All donations from the event will benefit the Muskingum County Hunger Network.
