Christ’s Table Needs Your Help

ZANESVILLE,Ohio– Christ’s Table needs your help.

Christ’s Table is gearing up for their canister drive fundraiser. Executive Director Keely Warden said this canister drive is very important.

“A lot of people think that our big time of the year is in the winter time,” Warden said. “That is not a true statement. Our big time is in the summer time, because the kids are out of school. So the number of kids that we serve is up about 60% in June, July, and August. That’s why we used to do one canister drive a year now we plan one in June to help us get through the summer. We wanted everybody to be watching for those big yellow signs out there this Friday and this Saturday. We’ll be at all the major stores and just kind of dig deep in your pocket and give.”

Warden is also making a plea to the community to come and volunteer.

“If you’re interested in giving a couple hours or if your child needs some community service hours this summer, it’s a great opportunity to help your community and get your community service hours. A special need this summer, we just had to invest in a new industrial oven for our kitchen. Our old one was about 9 years old it was on it’s last leg. It’s not like buying one for your kitchen it was about a $10,000 investment. We’re asking the community to come forth help us out with our kids this summer, help us pay for this oven, and support us when you see those canisters out there this weekend,” Warden said.
