Christ’s Table Summer Donations

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Many may think winter time is the busiest season for food pantries and hot meal programs, but that is incorrect.

According to Executive Director of Christ’s Table, Keely Warden, the need increases while children are out of school. Especially on rainy days when children can’t go down to the parks for a free meal.

“I think I can put a plea out there for probably about 99% of our non-profit organizations here in our community,” Warden said. “Summer is our busiest time of the year. Especially here at Christ’s Table our numbers are up about 60%, when it comes to feeding children here. In June, July, and August our numbers skyrocket and it’s a very busy place down here.”

Christ’s Table offers a coupon book for those who’d like to donate a monetary donation. Warden explains the book is a payment reminder for those who can donate monthly to help feed the families struggling to find food.

“$120.00 a year at Christ’s Table serves everybody we serve here for one day,” Warden said. “It will serve over 500 meals. So just a simple $10.00 a month can certainly make a difference in the lives of others.”
