Citizens Share Concerns at Town Hall Meeting
Over 100 Zanesville residents turned out to share their thoughts and concerns with city officials at a town hall meeting Thursday night.
The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. at the Civic League Center and lasted just under two hours. Several topics were brought up and discussed including problems with crime such as drugs, violence and prostitution.
While many believe there is still more that needs to be done to address the city’s crime problem, some took time Thursday night to thank Police Chief Kenneth Miller for recent arrests made to try to combat the prostitution issue.
Other citizens said they’d like to see more done in the city to provide safe, fun places for children. Mayor Jeff Tilton thanked everyone for coming and says he plans to meet with other officials to discuss the concerns further.
"It gives a one-on-one situation for the citizens to talk to an administration person where they may not come to city hall to speak about it, but they would come here amongst friends to speak about certain problems they have within their order of the community," Tilton said.
While no other dates have been set, Tilton said he would like to have more of these meetings in the future.
