ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The city kicked off their first ‘Good Neighbor’ Day of 2022!

There are usually several a year, with the focus on being kind to the community around.

There is a combination of planting trees, yard work, and just good old fashion helping.

Today was dedicated to helping beautify the community around the new playground, said Kelly Ashby, the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s truly a great partnership with the city of Zanesville, Noon Rotary, and Visit Zanesville and the Chamber of Commerce. It’s a great partnership and we get fabulous feedback from the neighbors that we are assisting,” she said.

People from the community do stop to show their support by dropping off bottles of water.

The Trinity Full Gospel Church was the host of the event this afternoon, but areas with high traffic in need are the most targeted.

“We just wanted to be a good neighbor to the new playground and pick up around the neighborhood. We also drive and see some areas that are in need of weed eating. We also see that they’re high traffic areas and so its just a great way for us to go into those high traffic areas,” Ashby told us.

The group does have plans to make one large ‘Good Neighbor Day’ for the home community to enjoy.
