City of Coshocton to Construct Pickle Ball Court

COSHOCTON, OH – Ohio is set to enhance its outdoor recreational spaces with a $1.6 million funding boost from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Through the Natureworks Grant Program, the City of Coshocton has been awarded an over $22,000 grant for the construction of a new pickleball court at the city’s recreation park.
“We’re excited because currently the courts are full.” Rachael McCreery, Director of Pickleball at Kids America, said. “Usually we have 30 people, sometimes upwards of almost 40 waiting to play. And so this is going to be a huge blessing to have an additional court.”
The Pickleball Court Committee has also been diligently raising funds for an addition of six more courts. The city has teamed up with the Pickleball Club to help supply the ground for the additional courts to be built at the city recreation park.
“So with that, I mean, that will really open us up for a lot of play,” McCreery said. “because we get a lot of players that actually come from Zanesville and Muskingum County and neighboring cities and communities that come here to play. So to be able to, you know, take these steps and go through this process of potentially having these other six courts will be huge for us.”
The construction of the court is planned to take place during the warmer months of 2024. For more information on the city recreation park, visit the City of Coshocton’s website.
