Cleaning up the Community

It’s the perfect time a year for doing a little bit of spring cleaning.

Your home isn’t the only place that can use this special treatment though. The Muskingum County Civic Action Group have taken to our local streets and neighborhoods in an effort to clean up the city. We spoke with member Rob Sharrer about the event.

“The program is called “Love your block”, and we’re going to go throughout the city over the next several months and pick up litter and debris.”

Today Keen, Jackson, Lee, and State Street were the focus of the clean up efforts, but the group plans on expanding to other areas of the city as well.

“It’s nice, since we’ve scheduled this event we’ve actually had several neighborhoods come to us and say “hey we would like to have our neighborhood be next on the list or be on your list”, and we have some neighbors and some groups within our neighborhood that want to get involved.”

If you are interested in getting involved with the Muskingum County Civic Action Group, you are welcome to attend one of their meetings from 11:00am to 12:00pm the first Saturday of every month down at the Zanesville City Schools Administration Building.
